Bring Your Coach Home for Real-Time Core Stability Training:
Real-time biofeedback guides you to a strong, sturdy and stable core in just 4-minutes a day

SAN RAFAEL, CA – For over 25% of the past 20 years Phil Alwitt has been laid-up with back pain unable to bike, hike or do any of the activities he loved. Alwitt represents a common group of people suffering from back pain due to disc degeneration. He has three herniated discs along with other related wear and tear. As a result, he lost 2 inches in height by age 50 and was constantly fighting back spasms and inflammation. Visits to physical therapists, fitness trainers, chiropractors, back specialists, neurologist, and acupuncturists, as well as an epidural injection all helped to a mild degree. For decades Alwitt stretched twice a day and performed core strengthening exercises to relieve the pressure on his spine. But nothing enabled him to get back to windsurfing, skiing the bumps, mountain biking or running—the activities he craved.

Then in 2015, in the midst of a painful 4-week back spasm, Alwitt was introduced to a pressure biofeedback device while visiting a physical therapist. Suddenly it all made sense. First, Alwitt was made aware of hisTVA, the transverse abdominis, the primary abdominal muscle to keep the body upright and relieve pressure on the spine. But more importantly, the pressure biofeedback device provided Alwitt with real-time feedback as he was using the device so he could see how the TVA was working and how to properly strengthen the muscle and the core as a whole. “It was an amazing revelation for me. After 20 years of exercises to help my back, I thought I knew my core. I didn’t. The feedback taught me how to retrain my muscles and get strong and stable,” said Alwitt.

The results? Alwitt has not had a back spasm in over a year. He started windsurfing again and even ascended Half Dome in Yosemite, a feat he would never have previously risked in case his back gave out mid-way.

Pressure biofeedback devices like the CoreCoach TVA Trainer by MyCore Health, Inc. (www.trycorecoach.com ) consist of an air pillow and a sensitive pressure gauge. When placed under the lumbar spine while laying on one’s back, the gauge measures the change in pressure while exercising the core. Since a strong, stable core does not move, the pressure reading on the gauge will remain steady. If the reading is moving, you have room to strengthen and stabilize your core. So the goal is simply to keep the needle on the gauge steady.

Sound simple? It is. But the reality is that many people from athletes to the everyday Joe, do not properly activate their core, especially their transverse abdominis (TVA). It requires the guidance of a pressure biofeedback device to coach people to stability. After a few weeks to a few months of use, depending on the person, your brain and body make the connection, and your TVA and core are strong and stable. If you think you have connection with your core, Alwitt bets you'd be surprised, "Not only are most people not aware of their TVA, but even athletes often have weak TVA and health problems as a result."

Pressure bio-feedback devices have been used by physical therapists for decade. Many fitness trainers and Pilates instructors have started integrating pressure biofeedback into their core programs. The CHECK Institute (www.chekinstitute.com ) requires that all their certified trainers are educated about the benefits of pressure biofeedback devices like the CoreCoach device (some trainer use a folded blood pressure cuff under the back instead). CHEK trainers typically will not allow their clients to progress to strenuous exercises until they have a strong, stable core as indicated by successfully using the pressure biofeedback device.

Michael Krick of KrickFit in San Anselmo, CA is a CHEK certified trainer and lifestyle coach. He has been using pressure biofeedback devices for the past three years. “I use pressure biofeedback with every client. I won’t let them lift a kettlebell until they successfully strengthen and stabilize their core using the CoreCoach,” said Krick.

Like millions of people, Alwitt discovered pressure biofeedback as a result of trying to alleviate back pain and get back to his sports. Pressure biofeedback is really for anyone wanting a strong, stable core. MyCore Health claims “just 4-minutes a day”. It worked for Alwitt, “The CoreCoach device changed my world. I am so happy.”

Bring Your Coach Home for Real-Time Core Stability Training:
CoreCoach TVA Trainer pressure biofeedback guides you to a strong, sturdy and stable core in just 4-minutes a day

SAN RAFAEL, CA – Do you have back pain or just want a really stable body? The CoreCoach TVA Trainer by MyCore Health, Inc. (www.trycorecoach.com ) is a simple device designed to coach you to core stability and less pressure on your spine.

The CoreCoach TVA Trainer consists of an air pillow and a sensitive pressure gauge. When placed under the lumbar spine while lying on your back, the gauge measures the change in pressure while exercising the core. Since a strong, stable core will not move, the pressure reading on the gauge will remain steady. If the reading on the gauge is moving, you have room to strengthen and stabilize your core. So the goal is simply to keep the needle on the gauge steady.

Sound simple? It is. Use it just 4-minutes a day to develop a strong core that will absorb the pressure otherwise placed on your spine. Less pressure on your spine means less pain, less disc degeneration, less inflammation and fewer back spasms.

The device comes with a series of 12 online training videos and a mobile app as well as print instructions. The program was developed in conjunction with proven Pilates, physical therapy and fitness practices. Move through the progressively more challenging exercises over the course of weeks or months. The video program features Elaine WIlliams, a CHEK certified fitness and lifestyle coach (www.chekinstitute.com ). “I use pressure biofeedback with every client. I won’t let them lift a kettlebell until they successfully strengthen and stabilize their core using the CoreCoach device,” said Williams. Many of her clients also use the device at home.
